Accused in slaying of Lynn Hamblin admits guilt

A 24-year-old man indicted Thursday in the 2013 slaying of Lynn Hamblin has pleaded guilty in a courtroom this afternoon.

Joseph Ramilla changed his plea and was sentenced immediately to life in prison plus 22 years. His sentence does not allow for parole eligibility, according to the sentencing judge..

A Greene County grand jury returned the indictment on charges of aggravated murder, aggravated burglary and kidnapping in the May 2013 killing of Hamblin, 59, at her home on Church Street.

Ramilla had been in the Greene County Jail since June 21 on charges of receiving stolen property, fraud, theft and tampering with evidence.

Hamblin was found at her home, 935 E. Church St., after a neighbor called and asked police to perform a well-being check.

Hamblin lived alone. Several animals were found on the property.
