Construction worker charged with rape of Miami University student

OXFORD — A man has been arrested after a Miami University student reported she had been raped.

On Saturday, July 24 at 1:20 a.m., Oxford Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a sexual assault that had occurred on N. College Ave.

A man called and said he found a female student lying in the front yard crying who was saying she had been raped. She said she did not know the identity of the man but had accepted a ride from him from a bar uptown, according to the City of Oxford Division of Police’s Facebook.

After an investigation, police arrested Zachary Frankart, 21 years old, of Clyde in Sandusky County, according to Oxford police. Frankart is a construction contractor working in Oxford, according to police.

Frankart is charged with rape and theft. He was taken to Butler County Jail.
