SOUTH CHARLESTON, Ohio — A teacher at Miami View Elementary School in South Charleston dressed up Thursday morning to help get the students at the school into the festive spirit.

Josh Murray, has spent the past six years dressing up like an elf the week before the students leave for Christmas break and done different activities to entertain the students.

One example of what Murry has done was greeting the kids from the roof of the school. Another year, he brought in the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo.

On Thursday, students were greeted by Mr. Murray as an elf riding in a sleigh, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and Batman in the Batmobile.

The students were gifted a Beanie Baby of their choice.

When asked what the best part of the doing this every year is, Murray said, “The most gratifying part for me is just seeing the students when they come in. They’re so excited. They’re coming to school and that’s what we want to do here at Miami View. We want to make sure that our students are having fun while they’re learning here and being greeted and feeling warm and welcome when they come into our school building.”
