Beavercreek restaurant remains closed after gas leak

Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant will remain closed until further notice after a construction team hit a gas line on Monday, according to a hospitality service representative.

The restaurant will not reopen for business until they get the all-clear from Vectren Corporation, representatives said.

IHOP is back open after a gas leak temporarily closed the restaurant.

A construction crew working outside the building hit a gas line Monday afternoon, according to officials.

Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant was also affected by the gas leak and has closed for lunch.

IHOP is closed temporarily because of the gas leak.

A witness reported that the restaurant was evacuated when the gas leak was discovered.

FIRST REPORT

A fire crew in Beavercreek is on the scene of a gas leak at the new IHOP restaurant, 2460 N. Fairfield Road.

The crew was sent there at 11:41 a.m. after a report that a contractor struck a gas line and caused a leak, according to a fire official.
