Toys, coats and several other gifts were donated to kids Wednesday morning at Haines Children’s Center on N. Main Street in Dayton, according to a spokesperson with FLOC.

“FLOC has been a phenomenal partner for children and families in Montgomery County for more than 30 years,” Montgomery County Associate Director of Children Services, Craig Rickett, said. “This donation gives our caseworkers and our family support workers the opportunity to play Santa Claus by bringing these bags of joy to children and families throughout Montgomery County.”

FLOC is a local volunteer organization that has been servicing children in Montgomery County since 1980, according to the FLOC website.

Caseworkers help families to fill out a request to FLOC to have children receive gifts for Christmas, and then FLOC works to fill in that request.

Dyer Garofalo Mann & Schultz assisted FLOC to prepare and deliver the gifts to children in need.

“Every Christmas, my wife and I sit and think about the impact this gift has on these kids in need of community help and support,” Doug Mann of Dyer Garofalo Mann & Schultz and FLOC Board Member said. “We like to think of them opening these gifts and there’s just happiness. In that moment, they see that the foster families care, that Children Services cares and that the community cares. It’s something that makes our holiday better and makes us smile all Christmas-long.”
