At least 30 people displaced after fire breaks out in Vandalia apartment building

VANDALIA — Around 30 people have been displaced and five apartment units have been deem unlivable after a fire broke out in a Vandalia apartment building Friday morning.

Crews responded to the 100 block of Imperial Court, west of North Dixie Drive, around 3 a.m. after the fire was reported.

No injuries were reported in the blaze. Crews requested the American Red Cross for residents who were displaced.

One of the units suffered major damage to the interior and exterior, according to firefighters. . The other four units suffered major smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, firefighters said.
