News Center 7′s James Rider got an exclusive interview with 3-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart, to speak on his ownership of a Darke County landmark.
“I came here as a kid, then came here as a driver,” he said. “The history is what makes it so special.”
Stewart purchased the Eldora Speedway in 2004 from Earl Baltes, who built it in 1954, and continued upgrading it over decades.
Part of the speedway’s ‘rich’ history (quite literally) is the unprecedented “Eldora Million,” still the richest short-track race on record.
