DAYTON — George Newcom’s Tavern, 418 E. 5th St. in the Oregon District, will be closed until July 17 to allow for a thorough sanitation of the entire building, management said Monday in a social media post.

An employee who last worked on June 26 has received a positive COVID-19 test result. The employee is recovering and is doing well, management said.
Management said they have contacted all employees and have scheduled testing for the crew.
Management also said they also have contacted Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County, whose investigators said the people running the tavern are “doing everything right’” and appreciated the decision to temporarily close.
