DAYTON — Despite the pseudo-televised entertainment provided via Zoom because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Troy High School seniors who attended their 2020 prom came away with positive feelings about the event as well as about themselves.

“It was kind of weird like knowing you’re not going to where you would be going to, but it’s fun to play along with it,” senior Austan Good told News Center 7′s Monica Castro on Friday night.

Baldridge delivered to the gathering at the Dayton Art Institute, including his song “Senior Year.” It was the first one he played.

“It was surprising because prom was canceled and there was no prom,” he said.

The public health emergency didn’t stop the dressy outfits, the dinner, the dancing. The only difference was country singer Drew Baldridge, the emcee who played host and entertainer via the video conferencing platform called Zoom.
