Fire destroys barn at Siebenthaler’s Garden Center in Beavercreek Twp.

BEAVERCREEK TWP. — Firefighters in Beavercreek Twp. battled a barn fire at Siebenthaler’s Beavercreek Garden Center Thursday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 4:10 p.m., according to Alex Zaharieff, Public Safety Director for Beavercreek Twp.

Photos sent by News Center 7 viewer Sophia Hollins showed smoke pouring from the area of the Siebenthaler’s. Zaharieff said the smoke could be seen from miles away.

The fire started in the lower level of a 100-year-old barn. That barn is a total loss.

The barn had items like hay and fertilizer in it, which helped fuel the fire, according to Zaharieff.

Zaharieff said crews did have issues with the wind pushing the fire around. The fire extended into a small barn, which was deemed a loss, some staff vehicles and to a company box truck.
