A nurse at Miami Valley Hospital was assaulted by a patient Tuesday night, according to Dayton police.

The 37-year-old woman was working on the fourth floor when a patient became irate.

The 25-year-old male has since been charged with assault.

The patient said he was leaving, but the nurse advised him he couldn’t do so. The patient begun cursing and used his wheelchair to hit the nurse in her left ankle.

The nurse told police she was purposefully rammed because the patient had ample room to maneuver around her.

The male patient had to stay in the hospital for injuries from a crash, but will be charged with assault.
