DAYTON — The downtown Webster Street Bridge is coming down, and the road will close to traffic beginning today for the next year and a half.
A detour will take motorists to Keowee Street to Monument Avenue.
Demolition of the bridge over the Mad River will be followed by construction of a new $10.1 million bridge that will feature five lanes, wider sidewalks, sky beams, observation decks and roadway improvements at either end of the bridge.

Firefighters are calling a blaze suspicious that broke out in a Dayton house Saturday afternoon.
Investigators said the fire was located in the kitchen area of a vacant house around 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
No injuries were reported.
Fire crews have responded to a house fire in the first block of Victor Avenue in Dayton Saturday afternoon.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 2:15 p.m. and reported heavy smoke coming from the structure.
Initial reports indicate the structure is believe to be vacant, and the fire was located in the kitchen area of the house.

Rain and snow showers push through during the evening before ending into the night. Little or no snow accumulation is expected. Overnight lows fall into the upper 20s. Isolated slick spots possible.
Sunday: Becoming mostly sunny through mid-afternoon before clouds return. Highs will be warmer, climbing into the upper 40s. Rain is expected to develop at night.
Monday: Rain showers likely, but mild with highs in the lower 60s. It will be a bit breezy at times during the day.
Tuesday: It will likely rain with a chance for a few thunderstorms. It will be breezy and unseasonably warm. Highs will top out near 70 degrees.
Wednesday: Rain will be likely in the morning and then taper off with lingering clouds. It will turn cooler with early highs in the upper 50s.

FRANKLIN — A van is being removed by a tow from railroad tracks on West 6th Street and South River Street in Franklin.
According to Franklin dispatch, crews were dispatched around 2:40 a.m. to a report of a van stuck on the tracks. Dispatch said the driver mistook the tracks for road.

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 7: 30 a.m.:
The driver of the vehicle that ended up in Wolf Creek in Dayton was not injured, according to our crew.
The incident is under investigation.
UPDATE @ 6:31 a.m.:
A tow truck is on its way to the scene of a car in Wolf Creek in Dayton.
Detectives are on scene.
The accident is currently under investigation.
Crews are working to get a vehicle out of Wolf Creek.
According to dispatch, a car had gotten stuck in Wolf Creek near North Gettysburg Avenue and Cornell Drive in Dayton around 5:20 a.m. Saturday.
Dispatch said the driver was rescued by the fire department.
Dayton Police said they arrived to see a man sitting on the hood of his vehicle in the creek.
It is not known if the driver suffered any injuries.
