Vectren pledges $75K to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Evansville, Indiana-based Vectren Corp. is committing $50,000 in financial aid to assist in rehabilitation efforts in the hurricane-devastated Houston area.

The aid will be divided up between United Way of Greater Houston and Interfaith of the Woodlands.

Additionally, Vectren has agreed to match employee donations, up to an additional $25,000.

“The destruction from Hurricane Harvey is devastating, and our hearts go out to those affected by this disaster,” Vectren Chairman, President and CEO Carl Chapman said in a prepared statement released Thursday afternoon.

“The impacted region will need aid from good corporate citizens and compassionate individuals throughout the country to help stabilize the region and begin the rebuilding process.

We believe it is our civic duty to answer that call for help.”
