UPDATE: Body of missing 5-year-old boy in Adams County has been recovered

ADAMS COUNTY — UPDATE @ 6:55 p.m.: The body of missing 5-year-old Cameron Walters has been recovered, Adams County Sheriff Kimmy Rogers confirmed.

Cameron was found in the water but authorities have not said where. He was reported missing from Mineral Springs Lake Resort on Monday.

A 5-year-old-boy went missing around 5:15 p.m. Monday from Mineral Springs Lake Resort in Peebles, Ohio.

Groups of volunteers and water rescue crews have returned to the campground today to continue the search for the missing boy, according to our partners at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati.

When Cameron Walters was reported missing, he was wearing dark cargo shorts and did not have a shirt on. He has green eyes, blond hair, is 3-feet tall and weighs about 45 pounds.

An Endangered Missing Child Advisory was issued by authorities for Walters late Tuesday morning, saying he is believed to be in danger.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the location of Walters to call their department at 937-544-2314.
