Tornadoes reported in Mercer County; Warnings remain in effect

UPDATE @ 3:48 p.m.

Reports of significant storm damage in Celina continue to roll into our newsroom after a tornado touched down in many rural areas of Mercer County.

Initial reports indicate as many as two people may have been injured after damage was reported at the C-Town Wings restaurant in the 1900 block of Havemann Road.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Hardin, Logan and Shelby counties until 4:30 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for Mercer and Auglaize counties until 4:15 p.m.

UPDATE @ 3:30 p.m.

A tornado warning has been issued for Mercer County until 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

A previous tornado warning for Auglaize counties has expired and a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued in its place until 4:14 p.m.

60 mph winds and inch-sized hail have been reported in both counties.

We are hearing reports of heavy damage to homes and businesses north of Sidney.

Our crews have arrived in the area as we monitor this developing story.

Reports of significant storm damage a rolling in after a tornado touched down in Mercer County Sunday afternoon.

Damage has been reported near Celina and Coldwater as a tornado warning remains in affect for Mercer and Auglaize counties until 3:15 p.m.

Inch-sized hail has been reported in the area, according to the National Weather Service.

A caller into our newsroom reports a barn was lifted from its foundation on Carmel Chruch Road in Mercer County.
