Springfield police looking for hit-and-run driver who injured pedestrian

Springfield police are looking for the person who was driving the vehicle that hit a pedestrian in the 1800 block of Damascus Avenue.

The victim, an adult, has been taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center. The victim's condition was not immediately known, Lt. Krantz said.

Police found the vehicle a few blocks away, abandoned, he said.

The incident was reported just before 7 p.m. as a pedestrian strike on Damascus, near West John Street.
