Did you remember to spring ahead?

You may have noticed the sun setting later each day, and this weekend marks the start of Daylight Saving Time, meaning more sunlight into the evening.

Daylight Saving Time began at 2 a.m., when it jumped ahead one hour.

“Due to the time change, the sun will set an hour later Sunday evening compared to Saturday,” Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said. “Of course, it also means sunrise will be later in the morning.”

Sunset was 6:38 p.m. Saturday, but advances to 7:39 p.m. today.

Sunrise was 6:56 a.m. Saturday, but will be at 7:54 a.m. Sunday.

“The next time the sun rises before 7 a.m. will be on April 15. At that point, we will have more than 13 hours of daylight,” Vrydaghs said.
