I-75 back open on stretch between Piqua, Troy

UPDATE @ 9:40 p.m.

Two people were taken to Upper Valley Medical Center near Troy with injuries that were not serious, according to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

The multiple-vehicle crash shut down both directions of Interstate 75 near mile post 80 between Piqua and Troy. All lanes were reopened by 8:30 p.m.

All lanes are back open on Interstate 75, which was closed both ways at mile post 80 between Piqua and Troy.

Although the lanes are back open, the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Piqua Post reported that roadways remain treacherous and that there are numerous slide-offs and minor-injury crashes.

FIRST REPORT

Interstate 75 is shut down in both directions at mile post 80 between Piqua and Troy.

The crash involves multiple vehicles but it was not immediately known how many people were hurt, according to Miami County Sheriff’s dispatch.

I-75 is closed between County Road 25-A and U.S. 36.

There are numerous reports of vehicle crashes and slide-offs as roadways became slick, the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Piqua Post reported.
