Roads to close ahead of downtown holiday festival

Grand illumination The Dayton Holiday Festival Grande Illumination waill be held Friday night. About 100,000 lights will illuminate tree on Courthouse Square. A variety of activities were held at the annual event including live entertainment, wagon rides and a gingerbread house decorating contest. Dayton city officials are planning several road closures Friday ahead of and during the annual Dayton Holiday Festival Grand Illumination and Dayton Children's Parade Spectacular in Lights.

The following closures are planned:

  • Beginning at 9 a.m. through 10 p.m., Third Street will be closed between Main and Ludlow streets.
  • Beginning at 3 p.m. through 10 p.m., Second Street will be closed between Perry Street and Vista View Drive.
  • Beginning at 5:30 p.m. through 10 p.m. the following closures are planned: Wilkinson Street between Second and Third streets, and Ludlow Street between First and Second streets.
  • Beginning at 7 p.m. through 10 p.m. the following closures are planned: Main Street between First and Fifth streets; Second Street between Jefferson and Perry streets; Third Street between Jefferson and Perry streets; Fourth Street between Jefferson and Ludlow streets; Wilkinson Street between Maple and Fourth streets; Southbound Red Cross Lane between First and Second streets; Southbound Stafford Street between First and Second streets.

Access to the Arts Garage will be maintained while the surrounding streets are closed.
