Dayton man, 26, identified as victim in Beavercreek fatal crash on U.S. 35 ramp

BEAVERCREEK — UPDATE @ 10:25 a.m. (Aug. 21): 

The driver killed in a single-vehicle crash on the U.S. 35 ramp to Interstate 675 in Beavercreek Monday night has been identified as Joseph A. Younger, 26, of Dayton according to police.

Police said Younger’s vehicle was traveling east on U.S. 35 and exited on the ramp to I-675.

“The vehicle went off the left side of the road, swerved back onto the roadway and crossed over to the other side, went off the right side off the roadway, drove into the tree line and struck a ditch which caused it to rollover,” police said in a media release Tuesday.

Younger was ejected in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

UPDATE @ 12:01 a.m. (Aug. 21):

The vehicle involved in a fatal crash Monday night was in a wooded area off the roadway.

The crash was reported at 10:15 p.m., and shut down the ramp from eastbound U.S. 35 to southbound Interstate 675 in Beavercreek. The ramp has since reopened.

The Greene County Coroner’s Office and Beavercreek Police Department are investigating the crash.

The victim’s name, age and hometown has not been released, nor what may have led to the crash.

The 911 caller who located the crash scene told this news organization that she flagged down passing vehicles to assist her as she searched the wooded area to confirm that there was only one deceased individual in the crash.

The caller also refuted earlier reports that the individual was ejected from the vehicle.

The ramp from eastbound U.S. 35 to southbound Interstate 675 is shut down while Beavercreek crews investigate and injury crash.

The single-vehicle crash was reported at 10:15 p.m., according to Beavercreek police dispatch.

Police would not comment on how many people were injured, nor the extent of injuries. However, according to initial reports, the driver may have been ejected in the crash.
