ID released in fatal Champaign Co. motorcycle crash

A 40-year-old Dayton woman was killed over the weekend in a motorcycle crash in which she was a passenger in the 2600 block of W. Ohio 245, Champaign County.

Two motorcycles crashed on the curve shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday. according to a release from the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.

Kelly Ann Morgan, of Dayton, was a passenger on an eastbound 2002 Harley Davidson that went off the right side of the road and landed in a field.

Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver, 52-year-old Dale Slusser, of Dayton, was transferred to Miami Valley Hospital after being initially transported to Mary Rutan Hospital.

The second motorcycle, a 1998 Harley Davidson, also went off the right side of the road and landed near the first motorcycle.

The riders of the second motorcycle were ejected and taken to the hospital for treatment: Jeffrey A. Higham, 40, and Clarissa A. Binkley, 40, both of Troy.

The conditions of those injured were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.

One person is killed and at least two others are injured Saturday after a motorcycle crash near West Liberty.

The crash was reported around 7 p.m. in the 2700 block of West Ohio 245, according to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.

Those injured are being taken to Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, and the county coroner has been contacted, the sheriff’s office said.

The names of those involved in the crash have not been released, and it’s not clear whether any other vehicles were involved besides the motorcycle.
