3-year-old’s death in Dayton not suspicious, coroner says

The death of a 3-year-old Saturday afternoon is not suspicious, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said today.

A man called 911 around 4:40 p.m. from the 5600 block of Hoover Avenue to report that his young son was not breathing.

An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of the boy’s death.

A man called 911 late this afternoon to report that his young son was not breathing.

He repeatedly urged crews to respond quickly to the 5600 block of Hoover Avenue.

Although he referred to his child as a baby, he told dispatchers his son was 3.

FIRST REPORT

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding an infant’s death.

The incident was reported around 4:40 p.m. in the 5600 block of Hoover Avenue, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

A special victims unit and county coroner's investigator also were dispatched to the scene.

It is not immediately clear whether the child was a boy or girl, nor the child’s age.
