2 homes, 3 yards damaged after Dayton garage fire

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 7:00 a.m: Two houses and at least three yards were damaged after a garage fire in Dayton Saturday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched to the 1400 block of McLain Street around 5:45 a.m. on reports of heavy smoke in the area.

A neighbor on his way to the store noticed what he thought was the house on fire and notified officials who were able to get to the scene rather quickly and realized it was the garage in back of the house that was fully involved.

DP&L are on scene to repair a damaged power line that caught fire. AT&T and Time Warner Cable were also notified, as their lines were damaged as well.

No one suffered injuries and the residents are able to return to their home, but the fire still remains under investigation.

Crews are on scene of a structure fire in the 1400 block of McLain Street in Dayton.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning around 5:45 a.m.

DP&L, as well as an investigator have been requested to the scene, per initial reports.
