Charter Communications will be making some changes to its digital simulcast signal in the St. Marys and Waynesfield areas of Auglaize County on or after Dec. 1.

These changes will affect only customers in those areas who directly connect their TV to cable without using a set top box or other piece of equipment.

According to officials at Charter:

  • Only TV sets connected directly to cable will be affected. TV sets connected to a set top box or other piece of equipment will not experience any change;
  • After the move, customers affected by this change will need to perform a channel scan on their TV to locate the affected channels;
  • Every TV manufacturer's instructions for a channel scan can be different. Follow the instructions in your owner's manual to perform the channel scan;
  • Most TV remotes will have a setup or menu button. Within the setup or menu button, you should be able to locate the option to scan or re-scan for channels;
  • Once a re-scan is complete, the affected service should be visible again;
  • Tip: The input option must be set for Cable rather than Air / Antenna before scanning.
