Montgomery County first responders are receiving a big shout-out for their work during the opioid epidemic with 15 billboards spread across the county thanking them for their service.
The billboards, placed by Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental High Services (ADAMHS), express gratitude to the first responders for their heroics battling and preventing drug-related deaths this year.

In addition to that, ADAMHS and Scene75 is set to host the “Supporting the Shield Appreciation Days” from Dec. 26 to 28.
County first responders, firefighters, officers and EMTs who have been on the front lines of the opioid crisis will get free family time at the Scene75 Entertainment Center, 6196 Poe Ave. in Vandalia.

They will receive free game vouchers, free pizza and other perks to give them a fun-filled day with their family, according to a ADAMHS release.
Dayton ranks No. 1 in the country for drug overdoses with a 50.6 percent death rate, according to ArrestRecords.com.

Montgomery County first responders continually combat drug-related deaths and overdoses at a higher rate than the average paramedic.
