The man facing a public indecency charge after he was accused of performing a sex act on himself in Shafor Park has been identified.

Eric Tolle, 25, of Dayton, was summonsed into Oakwood Municipal Court on a charge of public indecency, according to an Oakwood police report.

INITIAL REPORT:

A man is facing a public indecency charge after police responded to Shafor Park on a report he was performing a sex act on himself.

Oakwood police responded to the park at the corner of Shafor Blvd. and Patterson Road around 11 a.m.

“This is a very disgusting and disturbing event,” Capt. Alan Hill with the Oakwood Police Department said, adding that he was proud of his officers for quickly addressing the incident given its location.

Police said they approached the man’s vehicle after receiving a report that he was performing a sex act on himself in the vehicle, according to Hill.

“His pants were down,” the woman who called police, but asked to remain anonymous, said. “Children are around here and what his visual stimulation was bothers me.”

The woman said their were children playing tennis on the tennis court when she said she caught the man and she immediately called police.

While officers did not observe the man performing the act, they did gather enough evidence to charge the man with public indecency and he was summonsed into Oakwood Municipal Court, Hill said.

The man’s identity was not immediately released.
