Convicted drug dealer arrested in Preble Co. meth raid

A 53-year-old man is jailed without bond tonight following a drug raid at his home.

Henry Kelley Lawson was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs and for a weapons violation for having a gun despite prior drug convictions, according to the Preble County Sheriff’s Office.

Citizen complaints about drug activity led to the bust shortly after 1 p.m. at 448 Swishers Mill Road in Monroe Twp., where investigators found methamphetamine, evidence of meth trafficking and a firearm, according to the sheriff’s office.

Two other adults were in the residence when deputies conducted the search but they were not charged.

Lawson has a lengthy criminal history, including prior convictions for meth-related activity and other crimes in Kentucky and Ohio, deputies said. He is scheduled to appear Friday for arraignment in Eaton Municipal Court.
