Crews contain fire at vacant house on Lorimer Street, cause under investigation

JEFFERSON TWP. — UPDATE @ 2:25 a.m.:

Emergency crews were able to contain a vacant house fire on Lorimer Street early Saturday morning.

According to fire crews on scene, the fire started in the bedroom at the back of the house. The house was discovered to be vacant however evidence of the power still being on prompted crews to call DP&L to help with the investigation.

No injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation.

INITIAL REPORT

Fire crews are on scene of a structure fire at the 6000 block of Lorimer Street in Jefferson Township.

According to scanners, the fire was reported just after 1:00 a.m.

It is currently not known if there are anyone in the structure at this time.
