Rain deficit 2.63 inches ahead of Sunday rainfall

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a good soaker here in the Miami Valley.

Because of that, we have fallen behind in the rain gauge.

Since Jan. 1, we have received 31.71 inches of rainfall. This is 2.63 inches below normal for this time of year. However, there is some good news: some rain is on the way. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be enough to get us out of this defecit.

We are expecting a few showers on Sunday, especially during the afternoon. This will not be an all day rain event, and will lead to rainfall amounts ranging from a trace to a quarter-inch for most. Select areas could see more than a half-inch on Sunday.

Looking beyond Sunday, the chance for rain returns on Thursday.
