Ezekiel Elliott makes impressive NFL preseason debut for Cowboys

Since the Dallas Cowboys drafted Ezekiel Elliott out of Ohio State in April, he’s been expected to have an immediate impact.

So far, so good.

The former Buckeye ran for 48 yards on seven carries in his NFL preseason debut Thursday night, showing a few reasons for fans of America's Team to be excited.

He looked comfortable behind Dallas’ star-studded line, showing patience and burst in his first real game action since the Fiesta Bowl in January.

He let the nation know something Ohio State fans already did: He’s a fantastic blocker.

And he got the better of one of the NFL’s biggest hitters, Seattle safety Kam Chancellor.

Not bad for a first time out, eh?

Elliott also got a taste of what life in the NFL spotlight can be like when a video emerged via TMZ of his trip to a (legal) Seattle marijuana dispensary the day before the game.

Although TMZ reported there was no evidence Elliott did anything illegal, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed some displeasure via The Dallas News.

Welcome to the league, Zeke.
