Ribbon-Cutting set for new terminal at Neil Armstrong Airport in Auglaize Co.

Neil Armstrong Airport is hosting a day-long event on June 12 beginning with a pancake breakfast. Visitors can spend the morning viewing a classic car show and are encouraged to bring the kids and enjoy juggling and balloon acts.

Food trucks will be on site for lunch, including ice cream for dessert. St. Marys High School FFA will be displaying agricultural capabilities and Sinclair Community College will be exhibiting drones.

The ribbon-cutting will take place at 1 p.m. with the dedication of the new $1.6 million terminal that was completed in October 2020. WACO will be offering biplane rides that last 10 to 12 minutes.

The day will culminate with a 5K run on the runway, fireworks, and awards for the 5-K race.

Normal air traffic at the airport includes 27 flights per day (more if you count the crop dusters) and 5 to 10 jet charters a week. These include general aviation for corporate travel, private planes or charters.

People can also learn to fly and connections for sales of planes can be offered. Training with an instructor is about $150/hr. And, the airport offers full service for the planes.
