Indiana man found safe; Silver Alert canceled

UPDATE @ 9:48 p.m.: Charles Robert Tyler, 64, the focus of a Silver Alert for an endangered missing adult, has been located safe, a Wayne County sheriff's dispatcher confirms.

Tyler was located about 5:30 p.m. on the outskirts of Plainfield, Ind., in Hendricks County, west of Indianapolis and about 90 miles from his residence in Richmond.

Someone saw him trying to hitchhike and called authorities.

Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert for an endangered adult missing out of Richmond.

Charles Robert Tyler, 64, was last seen at 7 a.m. this morning, according to the release from ISP.

Tyler may be walking to Muncie, Ind. and may be needing medical attention, according to ISP.

Tyler was wearing a Notre Dame sweatshirt, blue jeans or khaki pants and brown shoes.
