Pickup hits house, driver hurt

A woman went to the hospital this morning after her pickup crashed into a home.

Two paramedics living there rushed outside to help her.

It happened just after 4:30 a.m. near Clark State Community College on Leffel Lane.

Police say the cause of the crash is under investigation, but it does not appear to be weather-related.

The pickup went off the road, hit a mailbox, then a vehicle and crashed into the porch of the home. The homeowner said things falling off the walls inside woke him up.

The impact caused structural damage to the basement.

The driver was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center.
