Man stuck is rescued in Buck Creek State Park

UPDATE @ 7:12 p.m.:

The man stuck in the mud in water up to his waist for nearly two hours has now been rescued.

The man, who was not identified, was pulled out of the water. His rescuer, from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Divison of Watercraft, crawled out on his belly through the mud to reach the man.

The man was being evaluated by medics to make sure he’s OK.

FIRST REPORT

Rescuers are trying to free a man stuck in mud and water up to his waist in the reservoir inside Buck Creek State Park.

The man, who has been stuck since around 5:15 p.m., was able to use his cellphone to call for help.

Crews launched into the Clarence J. Brown Reservoir, but it was too shallow to reach the man.

The man’s dog was able to take rope to him so he could pull himself ashore.

The man apparently became stuck trying to work on a duck blind.
