Limb knocks woman to ground on horse trail

A woman was knocked to the ground this evening after a large vine struck her while she and her husband were clearing vines along a trail on their horse farm.

The incident was reported at 6:30 p.m. in a wooded area on property in the 2600 block of Lower Bellbrook Road in Greene County. According to initial reports, the woman in her 70s was trapped underneath a fallen tree.

Crews helped bring the woman out of the wooded area and took her to Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville to be checked out.

Her husband said the large vine or limb fell about 30 feet and knocked his wife to the ground.

He said the incident was scary and that she was lucky to be OK.
