Cox Media Group Ohio media outlets are being honored in the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors 2014 radio and TV contest.

Twenty-five broadcasters in Ohio submitted 325 entries in the contest, featuring news, sports, weather, features, documentaries and photography from 2014, according to AP, which announced the finalists Tuesday afternoon.

CMGO is comprised of WHIO Radio, WHIO TV-7, the Dayton Daily News, The Springfield News-Sun and the Journal News. The Associated Press is a not-for-profit news cooperative representing 1,500 newspapers and 5,000 broadcast stations in the United States. Members of AP include 127 broadcast stations in Ohio.

“I am so proud of our amazing content group,” said Jana Collier, vice president of content for Cox Media Group Ohio. “There is no news organization in Southwest Ohio that does a better job of covering what really matters to our local community. If it’s important to the Dayton area, we’re going to be there first and do the best at getting context and depth.”

The Ohio APME annual awards banquet is May 3 in Columbus.
