Legendary country DJ Terry Dorsey dies at age 68

Retired radio personality Terry Dorsey, a Country Music Hall of Fame disc jockey who worked in Dayton early in his career, has died.

Dorsey died at his home in Illiniois on Saturday at age 68, CBS Dallas-Fort Worth reports.

Dorsey co-hosted “Hawkeye and Dorsey in the Morning” on KSCS 96.3 FM in Dallas before retiring in December.

Dorsey was a 1966 graduate of LaSalle High School in Cincinnati. He started spinning country records in 1977 at WONE in Dayton, according to his biography on the school’s website.

He worked five years in Dayton before heading to Texas where he became a well-known radio personality.
