Everything you need to know about the Troy Strawberry Festival

It's time for another #daytonsummer tradition, the 39th annual Troy Strawberry Festival, and here's what you should know before you go.

  • When: Saturday June 6th 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday June 7th 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown Troy and the Great Miami River Levee
  • Cost: Free
  • Theme: Bowling for Berries

Parking and Shuttles

Parking will be very limited, and visitors are encouraged to park at the following locations and use the free shuttles to the festival:

  • Waco Museum and Airfield, 1875 South County Road 25-A (I-75 exit 69)
  • Miami Jacobs Career College, 865 West Market Street (I-75 exit 73). Handicap shuttle service available

What to do

The festival will begin at 6 p.m. Friday night at Troy Memorial Stadium. Events on Friday night include the Children’s Parade, Celebrity Pie Eating Contest, and the Big Wheel Race. Friday night is highlighted by the Troy/Piqua Alumni Flag Football Game with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

Other event highlights include:

  • Strawberry Pie Eating Contest at the Levee stage- Registration starts at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, contest starts at 1:30 p.m.
  • Gas Pump Jockeys concert-Saturday from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. at Prouty Plaza
  • Cruise-in starting at 8 a.m. Sunday for the first 150 cars. More information about the Cruise-in can be found here.
  • Cornhole Tournament takes place at the levee near Troy Memorial Stadium at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Open to anyone 18 years or older with an entry fee of $20 per team. Additional information is available here.
  • Arts and crafts vendors will also be located throughout the downtown and levee areas during the entire festival. The official event calendar can be found here.
  • Super Kids Competition: Sunday starting at 11 a.m. - Open to boys and girls ages 3-10. Pre-registration was required, but registration will be accepted if an age group isn't full. Register here.

Active lifestyle

Want to do more than walk around the festival? Organizers have put together a few events for those who are looking for more.

  • Bike Tour: Sunday at 7 a.m. The bike has options of 25K, 50K, and 100K starting at Troy High School on Ferguson Drive. Registration starts at 7 a.m. with the event starting at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $20 and helmets are required. Entry form can be found here.
  • Strawberry 10k Classic and Shortcake Special Fun Run: Sunday, 8:30 a.m. at Duke Park- Cash prizes for top male, female, and age group finishers. Registration is $30. For more on where to register and prizes click here.

Foods to try

Anyone who has previously attended will tell you their favorites, but year after year common favorites will include the chocolate covered strawberries, strawberry shortcake, and strawberry doughnuts.
