State Route 47 was closed briefly after a semi-trailer overturned between Newport and Versailles in Darke County.
The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. near the Shelby and Darke County line.
The driver was not hurt but he was cited for failure to control.
A Darke County deputy said the driver was westbound when he apparently fell asleep and went off the road, nearly striking two utility poles.
The tractortrailer was hauling 15,000 pounds of empty auto parts racks.
