Two teens injured in Shelby Co. crash

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says two teenagers were injured in a rollover crash in Salem Township Saturday morning.

Deputies were dispatched around 12:20 a.m. Saturday on a reported single-vehicle rollover crash with ejection near the intersection of Wones and Meranda Roads in Shelby County.

According to a release, an SUV driven by Samone Brown, 18, of Kettlersville crashed when she didn’t see a curve in the roadway. The SUV went straight through the curve, hit a ditch, and flipped on its top.

CareFlight was dispatched to the scene and transported Brown to Miami Valley Hospital, but has been treated and released according to hospital officials.

Deputies say a 15-year-old passenger was also injured in the crash, and was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital for treatment by the Port Jefferson Fire Department.

Alcohol is an apparent factor in the crash according to deputies.

The crash remains under investigation, and any charges or citations are pending.
