Suspected OVI driver caught after fleeing crash

A suspected OVI driver was captured by a police K9 after fleeing the scene of a crash in Dayton.

The crash occurred near the 200 block of Ewalt Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday when a suspected OVI driver crashed a pickup truck into a tree.

Officers requested a K9 from Riverside police after the driver fled from the crash and responding officers from Kettering.

The K9 was able to successfully find the suspect who was taken into custody.

Reports indicate the driver went to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.

The incident will be investigated by Kettering police.
