Stolen truck crashes, causes large power outage

A stolen truck crashed into a pole and knocked out power for about 1,400 Dayton Power and Light customers in the Trotwood area early this morning.

The crash snapped a pole in half around 4:30 a.m. on Westbrook Road near Cheri Lynn Drive.

Power was restored to all but 750 customers by 5 a.m., according to DP&L.

There were no reports of injuries, but initial information indicates the driver fled the scene.

Police said truck was stolen from Area Wide Services on North Main Street in Englewood two days ago.
