Woman shot while sitting in car in Springfield

UPDATE @ 10:50 a.m.

According to the police report, a 31-year-old woman was shot in the upper left shoulder as she sat in the back seat of a vehicle on Tibbetts Avenue.

The woman told police she was drinking and smoking marijuana with friends in the parked car when she heard gunshots. She told police glass was flying everywhere and she went to get out of the car and realized she’d been shot, according to the report.

Her friend drove her to Springfield Regional Medical Center and from there she was transferred to Miami Valley Hospital.

She is listed in serious condition at Miami Valley Hospital.

Police continue to investigate and no arrests have been made.

Police in Springfield are investigating a shooting that happened late Monday night in the 500 block of Tibbetts Avenue.

A detective has been assigned to the incident, which was reported around 10:30 p.m.
