Police: Teen shot himself in leg

Dayton police said a teenager accidentally shot himself in the leg yesterday.

Officers were called to Royal Street around 3:45 p.m. yesterday, where the 16-year-old told them a bullet had traveled through his window and hit him, according to a police report.

The teen was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, and later told police that he was “showing off” for a girl when the gun went off, the report states.

No one was charged.
