Police: Pair broke into dead man’s apartment

Police said a man and woman broke into a dead man’s apartment after a neighbor saw them climbing through a window.

DeLarria McDade, 47, and Rashima White, 36, were arrested Saturday night at the apartment in the 400 block of West Grand Avenue, according to the Dayton police report.

The neighbor saw the man climb into the apartment, where the former resident had died months ago, according to the report.

Officers responded and the alleged burglar answered the door. While in handcuffs, the man claimed it was his friend’s apartment, but couldn’t name the friend, according to the report.

White, who was released hours after being booked into jail, was found in the bedroom after police searched the apartment.

McDade is scheduled for an arraignment on Monday.
