Miami County convict accused in child porn case

A Miami County man sentenced to prison in 2009 on a rape conviction now is charged in neighboring Darke County with 11 criminal counts involving child pornography.

Scotty Reineke, 31, of Bradford, is in the Darke County Jail on several charges:

• Disseminating matter harmful to juveniles (four counts)

• Complicity to dissemination of harmful matter (four counts)

• Pandering obscenity involving a minor (three counts)

Darke County Common Pleas Court records indicate these newest charges against Reineke stem from an incident or incidents that occurred from early July 2014 through early August 2014, when he was on parole.

A county grand jury indictment was returned, formally charging him, on March 27.

According to the jail’s online records, Reineke was arrested at Ross County Correctional about noon Thursday. He was returned to the county jail and county court records list the bond at $100,000.

In January 2009, Reineke pleaded no contest to a felony charge of rape and was sentenced to four years in prison. The sentence, served at Ross Correctional, was to run concurrently with a term he was serving on a parole violation.

He was arrested in July 2008 on the charge, which accused him of assaulting a man who had developmental disabilities.

According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Reineke was released from prison today, on April 23.
