Male caller impersonating Sheriff’s Deputy

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office has received several complaints of a man impersonating a deputy of their office, trying to get money.

According to the complaints, a man identifying himself as a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy is calling them and informing them that they have outstanding warrants for their arrest. The subject is directing the victims to purchase reloadable gift cards in the amount of $1000 from a gas station in Beavercreek Township.

The Sheriff’s Office says they will never contact individuals over the phone to collect money, and we will never direct individuals to purchase reloadable gift cards to make a payment to their office.

Anyone who receives one of these calls should call the Sheriff’s Office at (937) 376-5111.
