Surveillance image released of U.S. Bank burglar

Police released a surveillance image of the unidentified burglar in hopes of making an arrest.

Police said the perpetrator pried open a small safe and stole some rolled coins before running away.

Dayton police are looking for a man suspected of breaking into U.S. Bank, 10 N. Ludlow St.

The suspect broke through the glass front door, pried open a small safe behind the counter and got away with $200 in quarters, according to the police report.

Police said a security camera had been tampered with in the break-in, which happened around 1:30 a. m. Sunday.

A security guard described the suspect as male, around 6 feet tall and of thin build, according to the police report.

The guard spotted the suspect running from the bank.

Police said the suspect left behind a blue lunch bag and two black leather portfolios containing U.S. bank paperwork.
