Driver flees after hitting pedestrian

Dayton Police are on the scene of a pedestrian strike at the intersection of West Maplewood Avenue and Sandalwood Drive.

Police say a man in his 40s or 50s was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene of the crash around 10 p.m. Monday.

That man has been taken to a local hospital but his condition is unknown.

Initial reports say a dark red truck was involved in the crash, but police have not yet identified a suspected vehicle.
