Parolee arrested in jail bomb threat

UPDATE @ 2:50 p.m. June 12:

Police arrested 30-year-old William King Jr. this afternoon on a parole violation, and are expected to charge him with inducing panic and making a false report for the bomb threat called in to the jail Thursday, which led to a lockdown.

Online jail records show a hearing has not yet been set.

King has an extensive criminal history in Montgomery County dating back to 2004 on charges including violating a protection order, aggravated menacing and numerous parole violations, online jail records show.

UPDATE @ 3:30 p.m. June 11:

The lockdown has been lifted, and the bomb threat is being investigated. Nothing was found. No arrests have been made.

FIRST REPORT

A bomb threat called into the Montgomery County Jail this afternoon has prompted a lockdown.

According to Miami Valley Dispatch, jail staff evacuated the building and locked down the inmates. They are sweeping the building and it could take some time before it is cleared, according to a sergeant at the dispatch center.
